How can steam help breathing?

Our bodies are up to 60% water – all of the body’s systems need moisture to operate effectively, including the respiratory system.

Warm steam loosens phlegm and makes it easier to expel, helping clear the nose and chest.

The moist air also soothes a dry, sore, irritated throat, making it easier to breathe comfortably.

Breathe easier, sleep better

Euky Bear Steam Vaporiser is a convenient way to enjoy the benefits of steam for all night relief of the symptoms of colds and flu, croup, bronchitis and hay fever.

It is suitable for the whole family and whispered quiet, so it won’t disturb their rest. Use with Euky Bear Inhalant – soothing natural vapours of eucalyptus, rosemary and menthol – for added comfort.

Euky Bear Cleaning Tablets are also recommended ensuring the vaporiser is functioning at its best. After every 3-4 times the Vaporiser is used, place 1 tablet inside the container away from the heating element and run as usual. It is to prevent mineral deposited on the electrode and heating element. The warm steam emitted from the Vaporiser will still be pure and clean.

Why Vaporiser?

Malaysia weather is hot and humid. Most family especially with children, the air conditional system is always switched on the whole night. Therefore, the air becomes very dry and humidity can drop as much as 50%. I knew that because I have been using both humidifier and vaporiser in the air conditional room and the humidity is still lower than 50%.

My daughter used to have blocked nose every night she sleeps in the air condition room about 23-24oC. She couldn’t have a sound sleep due to blocked nose. I have tried many ways. I apply Vicks balm on her chest and back (not once but many times during the night). Humidifier is always on the run, slightly elevate her head with a pillow, give her warm shower before bed (warm air can open her airway so that she can breathe better) and nose saline spray.

It is just not making the condition better and some of them which is not practical in long run. I mean give her warm shower and her nose blocked solved but when she sleeps after a while later, the nose blocked again. You see what I mean? I don’t know about your children, my daughter hates it when I apply nose saline spray. It will clear the blocked nose but she refuses every time we try to use nose saline spray.

Finally, I found this product – Steam Vaporiser with eucalyptus oil as the natural vapor. If the baby can sleep well,so can we. Everyone is happy about it.

It is simple to use. Add tap water to a level (there is a marking to show the maximum water level) in the vaporiser container, adding 2 capsule of Euky bear inhalant (a solution contain natural essential oil, I like the one with natural eucalyptus oil), lock the heating module into the water container, switch on the power supply and that’s it. I let it operate for 8 -10 hours everyday, and walaaa my daughter condition become better and she is able to sleep for longer hours.

Humidifier and Vaporiser, what is the difference?

Both of Humidifier and Vaporiser emit vapor, one is cold mist vapor and the latter one is emitting warm steam vapor. Both of them ‘humidify’ the room which mean adding moisture to the air. For Humidifier, we need to make sure the filtration and water tank are always cleaned. Otherwise, the bacteria / micro- organisms may grow in the water. It is important to maintain it in order to produce clean air all the time.

In fact, Vaporiser emit vapor which is adding 10% more humidity than a Humidifier. Vaporiser is producing steam by boiling water which kills the bacteria in the water. However, some of you maybe worrying about the warm steam vapor which is not appropriated to be placed in the room with children. Special care shall be taken to keep them out of reach and it is better to place it somewhere higher.

Why is Vaporiser better for cold/ flu?

Vaporiser emit warm steam vapor. Warm steam is believed to have therapeutic benefit, the steam in the gas form can blend in the air more efficiently and therefore, can stay in the air much longer. Warm steam is believed to help open the airways by dilating the blood vessels and relaxing the muscles of the throat to ease the cough reflex.

Vaporiser is used with inhalants. Steam vaporisers are designed to be used with inhalants. These inhalants are usually blends of natural essential oil which have specific therapeutic benefits. Unlike 100% pure oils, these are designed to be disperse in water, so you can add them directly to the water inside of your vaporiser.

Inhalants can enhance the benefits of warm steam and help reduce congestion from colds, flu, croup, bronchitis and other upper respiratory illnesses. Other inhalants are designed to relax, soothe and unwind. Inhalants are exclusive to warm steam units as they rely on heat to ‘vaporise’ the essential oils, unlocking their therapeutic benefits.

The benefits of Steam Vaporiser:

  • Helps relieve the symptoms of colds and flu, croup and bronchitis
  • Helps relieve the severity of symptoms of colds and flu
  • Helps relieve the symptoms of croup and bronchitis
  • Helps provide humidity to assist the symptoms of cough including hoarseness
  • Uses moist hot air to help thin phlegm and decrease viscosity and stickiness, helping phlegm to be expelled through coughing, thus reducing coughing
  • Also helps create a healthier environment by adding moisture to the air

The only downside i found is you have to keep an eye on your little child not to touch on the vent as hot air is released to the air and will burn your child when he/she touches it.

Special feature

  1. Safety – fully enclosed heating element. Some vaporisers have two electrodes in contact with the water. Whenever they are switched on the water is electrified and whenever water is electrified, there is the risk of accidental electrocution.
  2. No medication cup is needed. Inhalant can be added directly to the water, greatly reducing the risk of accidental poisoning. Medication in the medication cup can attract young children. Children have dipped their fingers into the medication and then put their fingers in their mouths. This eliminates this problem.
  3. No special water – just use tap water.
  4. Quick start – generate warm steam within 3-4 minutes after switch on.
  5. Cool and efficient- the container remain cool so it does not burn your hand when you touch it.
  6. Long hours operation- Vaporiser can be operated continuously 10-12 hours without have to top up in the middle of the night.
  7. Easy maintenance- just rinse with water after each use and use Euky Bear Cleaning Tablet for better cleaning purpose.
